What personal information we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors submit comments on the site, we collect the information displayed in the comment form as well as the visitor’s ip address and user agent string to help detect spam messages.
An anonymized string created based on your email address (also called hash value) may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you are registered there. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly displayed along with your comment.
Media
If you are uploading images to the site, you should avoid uploading images where EXIF data includes GPS location data. Visitors to the site can download and retrieve all positioning information from images on the site.
Contact form
In our contact form we collect your name, your e-mail address and your comment. We also ask for your permission to store and process your personal data.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website address in cookie files. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in this information again the next time you leave a comment. These cookies are valid for one year.
If you have an account and log in to this site, we will create a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookie files. This cookie file contains no personally identifiable information and will disappear when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also create multiple cookie files to save information about your login and your screen layout choices. Cookie files for login are valid for two days and cookie files for layout choices are valid for one year. If you tick “Remember me” your cookie will remain for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an extra cookie file will be saved in your browser. This cookie file contains no personal information, but only specifies the post ID of the article you just edited. It is valid for 1 day.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles on this site may contain embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves exactly the same way as if the visitor has visited the other site.
These sites may collect information about you, use cookie files, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with said embedded content, including tracking your interaction with this embedded content if you have an account and are logged into the site in question.
How long we keep your information
If you write a comment, the comment and its metadata will be saved without a time limit. The reason for this is that we need to be able to find and approve follow-up comments automatically and not queue them for review.
For users who register, we also save the personal information they enter in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal data at any time (except that they cannot change their username). The site’s administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account or have posted any comments on this site, you may request an export file containing the personal information we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete all personal information we hold about you. This does not include any information that we have to save for administrative, legal or security purposes.
What we collect and store
While visiting our site, we will track:
- Products that you have viewed: we use this to, for example, show you products that you have recently looked at
- Location information, IP address and browser type: we use this for purposes such as VAT calculation and shipping costs
- Shipping address: we ask you to specify this so that, for example, we can calculate shipping before you order, and send you the order!
We also use cookies to keep track of the contents of the shopping cart while using our website.
When you buy from us, we ask that you provide us with information that includes your name, billing address, delivery address, email address, telephone number, credit card details / payment details and any account information such as username and password. We use this information for purposes such as:
- Send information to you about your account and your order
- Answer your questions, including repurchases and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Configure your account for our store
- Follow legal requirements we have, such as VAT calculation
- Improve our store offers
- Send you marketing messages
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number, which will be used to fill in your information at checkout for future orders.
Generally, only information about you is stored as long as we need the information for the purposes we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to store it. For example, we will store order information for the current time period for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and delivery addresses.
We also store comments or reviews, if you leave them.
Who in our team has access
Members of our team have access to the information you give us. For example, both administrators and store owners have access to:
- Order information such as what was purchased, when it was purchased and where to send it, as well
- Customer information such as your name, email address and billing and delivery information.
Our team has access to this information to fulfill orders, make refunds and provide support.
What we share with others
We share information with third parties that help us execute orders, such as payment solutions, shipping companies, and third-party embeddings, but also for traffic analysis and marketing automation.
Payments
We accept payments through Billmate. When we process payments, some of your information will be sent to Billmate, including information required to process or provide support for the payment, such as the total purchase amount and billing information.
