Description
SUP 14’x 22″ Naked Carbon
Dedicated to flat water.
Yster SUP 14’x 22″ Naked Carbon is a flat water paddle board designed for minimal water resistance, yet a board that offers stability corresponding to the stability of much wider boards. It is also extremely directional stable thanks to the aggressive nose shape and double concave bottom profile.
In cooperation with the SUP Sprint champion, multiple world champion and olympic medalist in kayak Martin Hunter, we have optimized the front of the board so that it helps you finding sweet spots in your paddling technique.

Features
Cutting edge
Nose shape
The nose design provides phenomenal directional stability with pushing the nose down in chop. It also makes is the board responsive when steering with your feet.
Stability
Dugout cockpit
The dugout standing area brings down the paddler’s center of gravity which makes the board extremely stable for its width. Our calculations on the board’s hydro-static stability show that a 75 kg person experiences about the same hydro-static stability as a 25.5″ flat deck board. In addition, the generous width of the cockpit allows you to stand wide apart with your feet, which also contributes to overall stability. The board gets even more stable thanks to the dynamic stability when you paddle at high speeds.
Minimum water resistance
Displacement hull
The displacement hull is designed to effectively cut through flat water with low water resistance.
Superior directional stability
Bottom profile
The low nose profile in combination with the double concave bottom profile provides superior tracking.
Optimized for perfect strokes
“Skinny front”
The “skinny front” allows perfect vertically strokes without having to move the upper body sideways, as Martin Hunter demonstrates in the video clip. This helps you finding the sweet spots in your paddling technique.
it easier to make perfect strokes.
Martin’s strokes go right along the rail of the board in his vertical strokes. We recommend our 89 mm rail tape to protect the rails of the board.
Lightweight
Full carbon
The board is shaped in a CNC machine to get precise dimensions and exact tolerances. The lamination is weight-optimized with visible 3K Carbon naked carbon fiber fabric on the top, bottom and rails. The weight-optimized lamination gives about 15% less weight than traditional lamination.
Phenomenal glide
Rocker and matte surface finish
The optimized rocker provides an extended waterline with outstanding glide and low deceleration between the strokes. In addition, the matte finish of our Naked Carbon series makes it more difficult for water to adhere to the surface. This reduces the friction between the water and the surface of the board, which provides better glide.
Well balanced
Balanced volume distribution
The volume is evenly distributed across the board. This means that the tail will not get buried which is a common problem among narrow boards.
Let your feet stay dry
Drainage
The ejector effect effectively drains out water that splashes into the cockpit through the carbon fiber tube when the board travels through the water.
High dynamic stability and low drag
Tail & lift
When the board has speed in the water, the square tail makes it less tippy. The tail lift is optimized so that drag that wants to slow down the board is minimized.
Solid grip for your feet
Non-slip pad
The diamond-patterned pad gives a phenomenal grip in all directions for bare feet as well as boots.
Dual leash plugs
Front and rear leash plugs
Attach the leash either to the leash plug at the tail or to the front leash plug at the front of the cockpit.
Do not slip
Tail pad
The tail pad in brushed EVA makes sure that your back foot does not slip in your turns.
Perfect grip
Ergonomic grip
The ergonomic grip follows your hand’s natural curvature so that you always have your board in a secure grip. Loading and unloading also become much easier when you have your board in a proper grip.
Temperature control
Integrated vent plug
All Yster hard boards have integrated vent plugs to allow them to adapt to temperature fluctuations, as overheating can lead to delamination. Nevertheless, we advice not to leave your board in direct sunlight for a long periods of time.
I had suggestions on what I wanted out of a biomechanical perspective, and on how I wanted the board to glide in the water and go straight. The hull design of every manufacturer seems to be different but Yster has a concept on the hull design that provides phenomenal straight-line tracking.
This Naked Carbon board is a flat water race board. Martin’s “skinny nose” helps to optimize the stroke and in combination with the hull design and the weight-optimized lamination provides a fast acceleration and high speed with low deceleration between the strokes. Last but not least, it is extremely directional stable – a hallmark of Yster SUP boards.
