Description

ISUP 17’3″x 26″ Linear

For those who take their training and long-distance paddling seriously.

Yster ISUP 17’3 “x 26 ″ Linear is an extremely effective unlimited SUP for long-distance touring and serious training. The length of 526 cm in combination with a nose fin means that the board tracks exceptionally straight in the water. A long board also means longer water contact, which in turn gives better glide than shorter boards. The width is also perfect for touring and training: not too narrow so that it becomes tippy, yet narrow enough to provide extraordinary glide. Just lagom.

Yster ISUP 17’3 “x 26 ″ Linear can be inflated to 26 psi, which is 20-40% higher than most inflatable boards on the market. In addition, rail stringers in the high-tech polymer Dyneema® run along the sides to further stiffen the board longitudinally. When the board is deflated the integrated rail stringers roll up with the board.

Board, paddle, pump and a change of clothes fit nicely into the stylish weekend-bag style backpack.

Characteristics

Extraordinary glide

A long waterline

A long waterline and perfectly balanced width provide outstanding glide.

Extremely rigid

Integrated rail stringers in Dyneema®

The integrated rail stringers in the low-elongation polymer Dyneema® that run along the sides make the board extremely rigid longitudinally.

Straight line tracking

Nose fin

The nose fin in combination with the long waterline make the board track extremely straight in the water.

Keep a water bottle close at hand

Front bungee cords

The bungee cords on the front deck are perfectly positioned to tie down a water bottle or things you want close at hand.

Tie down your cargo

Rear bungee cords

The bungee cords just behind the main pad hold all the stuff you want to bring on your trip. The 5-piece pad underneath the straps ensures that your cargo does not move about when you paddle.

Secure the nose

D-ring in the nose

If you want to transport your inflated Yster ISUP 17’3″ x 26″ Linear on the roof racks of your car, we recommend to secure the nose of the board with a rope down to an appropriate attachment point in the car.

Hard and rigid

High pressure

The Yster ISUP 17’3″ x 26″ Linear can be inflated to 26 psi, which makes the board rock hard and rigid.

Do not slip

Diamond patterned pad

The pattern of the pad gives excellent grip in all directions whether you paddle barefooted or with shoes.

A firm grip

Neoprene handle

The comfortable handle in neoprene gives a firm grip of the board.

Directional stability

Directional stability means how straight the board tracks in the water. In addition to the shape of the board, directional stability are also affected by e.g. wind, waves, currents, fin design and fin positioning, paddler’s position on the board and paddling technique.

Glide

Glide means how effortlessly the board moves in the water. In general, the longer and slimmer board, the better glide, but the shape and rocker of the board also has a great impact on the water flow characteristics. Other factors that affect the speed of the board are wind, waves, currents, fins, paddler’s positioning on the board and paddling technique.

Stability

Stability indicates how stable the board is to stand and paddle on. The static stability, i.e. when standing still on the board, is in essence affected by its width, bottom profile and fin size. The dynamic stability – when the boards travels in the water – is also affected by its width, bottom profile and fin size but also by the shape of the tail. As a result, Yster’s boards feel more stable, even though they are long and narrow. Other external factors that affect the perceived stability are wind, waves, currents, fins and paddler’s positioning on the board.
The number gives an relative indication of the weight of the characteristics.
